a pattern of thinking
that helps
when the well runs dry
but first, a question:
which is worse
which lingers longest of all
a rhyme without reason
or a reason without rhyme
timely foot petals
growing in a row
tiny singing mice
watching out for mr. crow
hither and thither
tether and yarn
sprinkling the inklings
to owls in the barn
add 1 quart broth
and 2 parts joy
shake really well
and boy oh boy
which way
said the rabbit
which way to the sea
how can i know
said the big bumble bee
but bumbling is hard
for the nimble of soul
the sand box is sinking
to a place far below
far below is a whisper
and an old burning smell
noises such noises
screams out of hell
where do i go now
said bunny to tom
i cannot guide you
i cannot help you
will not direct you
said tom
so time cranks on
as the gears keep grinding
crushing fallen glass
and all is sinking
always sinking
only one light
shines bright in the dark
the way still open
for
the soul with a heart
who sees truth (I asked)
who longs to know
fewer and fewer
as the clockwork slows
when time runs down
and the days all run out
ever and ever
will be lingering still
always and forever
be lingering still
here a fast shadow
there a deep shade
take cover quickly
or the price will be paid
some do want truth
some do seek the right
some do walk with God
and bask in the light
the light of the world
the light of the world
the light of the world
is Jesus
Happiness and blessings to all.
